Location
Somerset House Inn is located on Commercial Street, Provincetown’s busiest and best known street. Although we are technically considered to be in the East End, we extremely centrally located to all attractions, shops, and restaurants. The inn faces the Provincetown Harbor, and crossing the street from the front walkway of the inn puts you directly on a public path to the harbor beach. We are a ten minute walk from MacMillan Wharf, where the ferry, whale watches, and boat tours arrive and depart. This is also the same location as where the shuttle to beaches arrives and departs regularly each day. We are a seven minute drive from the airport and to both Herring Cove and Race Point beaches if you utilize your own vehicle.

Favorite Food Establishments:
Dave Haase says, “my favorite quick and easy casual dining place is Liz’s Cafe for both breakfast and for dinner. I love their Hash and Eggs on the breakfast menu, and their Chicken Milanese on their dinner menu. When I’m in the mood for a nice meal with friends, I make reservations at Ciro & Sals for delicious Italian cuisine. Their outside seating is stunning and their seating downstairs has unique charm with a feeling of eating in an intimate wine cellar with lighting made from cheese graters and collanders. There isn’t a dish that I wouldn’t recommend as their meals are superb. Lastly, I highly recommend The Lobster Pot for any seafood lovers. No reservations needed for this Provincetown staple and they never disappoint. The Potato Crusted Cod is my absolute favorite.”
Pat Kearns is our local coffee connoissuer and says, “I love hitting up Joe’s Coffee for a blueberry scone and americano or latte. Kohi Coffee is also a great choice to get caffinated.” As for dining, Pat enjoys getting out to more casual settings to watch Women’s basketball or the NBA and he says, “the spicy beef kabob or the Nepali Curry at Squealing Pig are my go-to meals when watching the games. I also would highly recommend the Provincetown Brewing Company for their Jerk Chicken sandwich, although everything from their menu is delicious.”
Jerome Tenpenney can’t recommend Sal’s highly enough when he is in the mood for a phenomenal Italian meal . He says, “every meal on the Sal’s menu is to die for but specifically the Carbonara is my absolute favorite (Sal’s doesn’t have a website, but can be found on Instagram @salsprovincetown). I am also known to dabble in burgers around town and the smashburger at Mac’s Fish House and the burger at Local 186 are the best.
Leetan Cambell is our local candy aficionado. She also works at Cabot’s Candy. She says, “we have the best sweets in Ptown and if you are looking for outstanding homemade fudge, saltwater taffy, or cookies, definitely come to Cabot’s to satisfy your sweettooth and say hello!”
Courtney Paulsen-Martin loves an afternoon meal and has three absolute don’t miss dining recommendations. She says, “there is nothing better than the Canteen’s food, particularly the cauliflower fritters, brussel sprouts or the salad/grain bowls….don’t forget the frozé! I love taking my food to the back beach and sitting in the sun. Another great sunny late lunch option is to grab a delicious smoothie or salad from Grab N Go Health Bar and taking it to the Aqua Bar deck to enjoy it while overlooking the boats in the Provincetown Harbor. Additionally, I recommend you check out Victor’s Happy Hour from 4-5pm to enjoy delicious bites and cocktails.
