The Oliver Room

The Mary Oliver Room, also known as Guest Room 1, is located at the front of the house on the second floor. This room features views of Provincetown Harbor and Long Point Light. In the spirit of Mary herself, you may want to try to rise early to watch the day break over the bay. This room offers a queen-sized bed, a built-in fireplace, and ample storage space in beautiful built-in cabinets. The private bathroom features a walk-in shower. Amenities include a TV, a retro mini-refrigerator, an individual a/c and heat system, and L’Occitane bath & body products. Please note that guests staying in this room will need to be able to navigate five steps to enter the House and then a full staircase up to the second floor to access the Mary Oliver Room.

The Williams Room

The Tennessee Williams room, also known as Guest Room 2, is located on the west side of the house on the second floor. This newly renovated room features a king-sized bed and ample storage space. The private bathroom has a shower/tub combination. Amenities include a smart TV, a retro mini-refrigerator, an individual a/c and heat system, and L’Occitane bath & body products. Please note that guests staying in this room will need to be able to navigate five steps to enter the House and then a full staircase up to the second floor to access the Tennessee Williams Room.

The Lazzelle Room

The Blanche Lazzelle Room, also known as guest room 3, is located on the east side of the house on the second floor. The room’s vertical white Shiplap and use of bright colors reminds us of Blanche’s signature white-lined woodcut prints. The room features a queen-sized bed and a closet for storage. The private bathroom has a free standing shower. Amenities include a wall-mounted smart TV, a retro mini-refrigerator, an individual a/c and heat system, and L’Occitane bath & body products. Please note that guests staying in this room will need to be able to navigate five steps to enter the House and then a full staircase up to the second floor to access the Blanche Lazzelle Room.

The O’Neill Room

The Eugene O’Neill Room, also known as guest room 4, is located at the front of the house on the second floor. This room features views of Provincetown Harbor and Long Point Light. The room is a fitting homage for Eugene O’Neill whose first appearance as a playwright came in the summer of 1916 in a tiny, ramshackled playhouse on the wharf. This room offers a queen-sized bed, a built-in gas fireplace, and a substantial sitting area. The small private bathroom features a tub/shower combination. Amenities include a TV, a mini-refrigerator, an individual a/c and heat system, and L’Occitane bath & body products. Please note that guests staying in this room will need to be able to navigate five steps to enter the House and then a full staircase up to the second floor to access the Eugene O’Neill Room.

The Frankenthaler Room

The Helen Frankenthaler Room, also known as guest room 5, is located on the third floor of the house. This room features expansive views of Cape Cod Bay and Long Point Light. The bedroom features a king-sized bed, a built-in fireplace, and a skylight. This top floor room gets the best light in the house. A separate dressing alcove gives you a place to hang and store your belongings. The large en-suite, bathroom offers a whirlpool jacuzzi tub/shower combination. Amenities include a TV, a mini-refrigerator, an individual a/c and heat system, and L’Occitane bath & body products. Please note that guests staying in this room will need to be able to navigate five steps to enter the House and then two full staircases up to the third floor to access the Helen Frankenthaler Room.

The Motherwell Mini Suite

The Robert Motherwell mini suite, also known as room 6, is located on the third floor of the house. In the spirit of Motherwell as a philosopher and expressionist, this newly renovated mini suite invites variance and ponderance. The mini suite features a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, built-in fireplace, a closet for storage. The suite has a European-inspired wet room with an oversized skylight. This unique bathroom is entirely tiled from floor to ceiling. In addition to the bedroom and bathroom, there is a separate sitting room with ample natural light as comfy leather seating is placed directly under a second skylight. This area also provides access to a mini fridge and bar cart. Additional amenities in the mini suite include an individual a/c and heat system and L’Occitane bath & body products. The Motherwell mini suite does have shared access with one other guest room to a third floor balcony that provides views of the Provincetown harbor, library tower and the Pilgrim monument. This balcony is accessed from a separate door outside of the mini suite from the third floor landing. Please note that guests staying in this room will need to be able to navigate five steps to enter the House and then two full staircases up to the third floor to access the Robert Motherwell Room.

The Hawthorne Room

The Charles Webster Hawthorne Room, also known as guest room 8, is located on the first floor at the front of the house. The bedroom features a king-sized bed, a private sunroom overlooking the garden, and a closet/armoire for storage. The room’s private, modest bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Amenities include a smart TV, a fun retro mini-refrigerator, an individual a/c and heat system, and L’Occitane bath & body products. This is the ideal room to watch parades and people passing by as you lounge in the sun-room with a beverage, something Charles Webster Hawthorne would applaud you for. Hawthorne paintings focused on portraits of people and landscapes in and around Provincetown. As he said, “It is so hard and long before a student comes to a realization that these [first] few large simple spots in right relations are the most important things in the study of painting.” If the Somerset House Inn was a study of painting, the Hawthorne Room would be the simple spot in the right relation. The Thompson Room

The Bob Thompson Room, also known as guest room 9, is located on the first floor of the house. The bedroom features a king-sized bed and has original hardwood floors. A built-in closet and large armoire provide ample storage during your stay. The spacious mediterranean-styled bathroom provides a luxurious tub/shower combination. Amenities include a TV, a retro mini-refrigerator, an individual a/c and heat system, and L’Occitane bath & body products. The Glaspell Room

The Susan Glaspell room, also known as guest room 10, is our smallest and coziest room. But don’t let the size fool you. Room 10 is small but mighty like our beloved Pulitzer prize winning playright, Susan Glaspell, who founded the first modern American theatre company, the Provincetown Players. Located on the second floor, toward the back of the house, this quaint room offers a queen-sized bed and a closet for storage. The detached, but private bathroom, features a free standing shower, and is just a few short steps down the hallway. Amenities include a smart TV, a retro mini-refrigerator, an individual a/c and heat system, and L’Occitane bath & body products. Please note that guests staying in this room will need to be able to navigate five steps to enter the House and then a full staircase up to the second floor to access the Susan Glaspell Room.

The Haring Room

The Keith Haring room, also known as guest room 11, is located towards the back of the house on the west side. The bedroom features a queen-sized bed and closet for storage. The private bathroom has a free-standing shower. Amenities include a TV, a retro mini-refrigerator, an individual a/c and heat system, and L’Occitane bath & body products. The Hofmann Room

The Hans Hofmann Room, also known as guest room 12, is located on the west side of the house, in the rear. Like Hofmann’s work, this room is an interplay of color and shapes. The bedroom features a king-sized bed, remote-controlled fireplace, writing desk, and closet for storage. The private bathroom has a tub/shower combination. Amenities include a TV, a retro mini-refrigerator, an individual a/c and heat system, and L’Occitane bath & body products.
