Accessibility

Accessibility policy

The Somerset House Inn thrives on inclusivity for all guests. However, due to the historic significance of the building, and preexisting physical structures, resources for the removal of obstacles makes accessibility not readily available. We are not wheelchair accessible and the navigation of at least five steps are necessary to access limited rooms.

Physical Barriers of the Somerset House Include the following:

  • Access to one of two ground-floor guest rooms (Room #8 and Room #9), the common parlor, and breakfast area requires the navigation of five steps.

  • Access to ten guest rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor requires the navigation of at least one full staircase and there are no lifts/elevators on the property.

  • All emergency exits require the navigation of steps.

  • Private and public restrooms require the navigation of steps and bathtub ledge.

Integrated accessibility at the Somerset House includes the following:

  • All steps on the interior and exterior of the property have handrails or handles that are useable for navigation.

  • Guests with legitimate service animals will be provided access to all areas where guests are permitted on the property.
